Over the course of the past week we have begun to settle into the new trimester. In class we picked out our SSR books. We did some creative writing, which i really like. It helps me really express myself, whether it be dark or bright and experience things that i didn't really know I was thinking about. We talked a lot about witches and how there are still "witches" today, except witches are just stereotypes created from the fear of the unknown. I picked up on this idea quickly, although it still seems a foreign concept that people could do such terrible things to each other. Our groups got to talk about what seemed off-putting in the text about how to spot a witch. It was interesting to see and hear what the others thought about the text. We watched a video and at the same time wrote posts on a form about our thoughts on the video. I liked this a lot. It was kind of fun and we got to see what others were thinking right away. It made it easier for me to speak my mind as I wasn't actually speaking. We started The Crucible on Thursday. Watching it, even though I knew it was based on true events, it didn't seem real. I learned a lot this week, about the power of the individual, fear, and the unknown and how it can change a person for the worse.
